FBI Detective PuzzleFBI Detective Puzzle - 23 June

Old Mr.Rakesh was found dead in his bedroom by young Manish.
Manish recounted his dismal discovery to Detective FBI detective Donald, who happens to be around the scene.

'I was walking by Mr. Rakesh's house when I thought I would just pop in for a visit. I noticed his bedroom light was on and I decided to peek in from the outside to see if he was in there. There was frost on the window, so I had to wipe it away to see inside. That is when I saw his body. So I kicked in the front door to confirm my suspicions of foul play. I called the police immediately afterward.'

With clue from Detective FBI detective Donald, the police officer immediately arrested Manish for the murder of Mr. Rakesh. How did he know Manish was lying?

  1. ...There was frost on the window, so I had to wipe it away to see inside....

You have wipe it from inside not from outside..

    1. You said wrong. The cold is outside so the frost will form outside not inside. He wipe it from outside that was correct.

  2. Manish found the body in the bedroom.. But said he checked the study room and found the body there...

  3. Briliant deduction, I would have to deduce that the police confirmed the victim was found dead in his bedroom but the suspects statement has a main hole in his alibi by saying he found the body in a room with a study light which you can obviously conclude that he was referring to the study room exposing him as the true murderer by ironically and rhetorically confessing to the cold blooded crime, unless he killed him and moved the body but that's just going askew but this one was rather astonishing

  4. Wouldn't his statement of suspected foul play suggest that the door would have already been broken down?

  5. Big give away - FROST. You would have to wipe it from inside of the room not outside.

  6. Condensation forms on the inside frost can form on both sides

  7. It's extremely obvious; he was found dead in his bedroom, but this amateur liar states that he saw the body from the window- already dead- in the study.
Unless he gives the agent a very convincing reason as to why he moved the body, there is no reason to believe he is innocent, and quite a few reasons to believe he is our killer.

  8. There is no mention of Study/Study room light etc. It is the frost.

  9. why he can notice the light is on, before he wipe the frost on window. Why he had suspicious when saw a body. He instanly thougt Mr. Rakesh already death.

  10. crap puzzle - not thought out properly - god help us if this is how the police define logic.
