It guarantees at least one of the group has got two working battery
Group of 3 requires 3 attempts to verify if 2 batteries of the group are working (B1+B2, B2+B3, and B1+B3) while the group of 2 requires one attempt (B1+B2)
Total attempts = 3 + 3 + 1 = 7

In Gotham, a thief was found dead and the police were unable to solve the mystery behind the death. The dead man was found in a desert naked and with a half of the toothpick. One day before the death, the man along with his three friends were spotted by a witness crossing the desert using a hot air balloon. The witness also mentioned that all the four men throw their clothes off probably because the balloon was losing the attitude because of overweight.
Detective James Gordon was called to solve the death, mystery and he immediately tells everyone how the thief died. Can you explain the same?

Detective James Gordon explains that the balloon was losing attitude so all friends decided to take off their clothes in order to decrease the overall weight but when balloon continues to lose the attitude they decide one of them need to jump to the desert to decrease the weight.

In a fruit store there was a unique weighing machine which was made to weigh only cherries and strawberries as they were priced the same.

Other fruits like water melons or mango had different machines as they were expensive.

A man successfully buys water melons at the price of cherries. How ?

The logic used by the machines, It differentiated the fruits with the help of colour. So the weighing scale that would weigh only cherries and strawberries only weighed what was red. So the man peeled it and then weighed the fruit. Since it is red inside the machine weighs it and marks it at the price of cherries.

#6 - Short Story Birbal Riddle

A man was convicted of a minor offense in Akbar court. Akbar decided to give him a chance. He asked him to give a statement. If the statement is true, he will be killed by lions and if it is false, he will be killed by trampling of wild elephants.

The convicted person requested help from Birbal and since the crime was not a big one, Birbal decided to help him. Whatever Birbal suggested impressed Kabir and he let the convicted person go.

What did Birbal suggest to the person?

The statement was "I will be killed by trampling of wild elephants."

Now if the statement is true, he should be killed by lions but then the statement will become false.
If the statement is false, he will be killed by trampling elephants, which will make the statement true.

#7 - Akbar Birbal Riddle

Once while in his court, King Akbar asked Birbal to write something on a wall that makes one sad when read in good times and makes one happy when read in sad times.

He took only a few moment and wrote something that fit the requirements. What did he write?

He write:
The time will pass soon.

If you read this line in happy times, you will be sad because you would want the happy time to last forever.
If you read it in sad times, you will feel happy, as you will feel optimistic about the future.

Two players were arrested on the spot by the police while swapping their jerseys openly during the half break of the soccer world cup.

Why do you think they were arrested?

It was a women world cup. The country had strict rules against female nudity and thus, the players were arrested.

#9 - Suspicious Mystery Riddle

A girl was sitting in her hotel room when she heard a knock on the door. She opened the door and found that a man was standing outside.
The man said, "Oh! I am really sorry, I thought this was my room."
He then walked through the corridor to the elevator. The girl did not know the man. She closed her door and called the security asking them to apprehend the man.
What made her suspicious of that man? He might have been genuinely mistaken.

A school server was hacked. The headmaster suspects five friends based on the fact that they were really good such knowledge. He calls all of them in his room and the five students give the following statements:

Peter:
1. I did not do it.
2. I have never hacked in my entire life.
3. Christy did it.

Jamie
1. I did not do it.
2. The hack was done from within the network.
3. I do not like Misty.

Casey
1. I did not do it.
2. I have never seen Misty in my life.
3. Christy did it.

Christy
1. I did not do it.
2. Misty did it.
3. Peter was lying when he said I did it.

Misty
1. I did not do it.
2. Jamie did it.
3. Casey and I used to be friends.

Now, you know that out of the three statements, every student has speaker two truths and one lie. Reading all these statements, can you identify who hacked the server?

Jamie hacked the server.

Let us assume that Peter is a hacker. If so, his first statement is false and also the third statement is false. But as per the condition, he cant speak more than one lie. The same goes for Casey, Christy and Misty.

If you assume the same for Jamie however, the condition stands true.
